1) Marketing Coordinator

Summer Student
May 1 – August 18, 2017
Under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Director, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for building and growing the TSM audience. The Marketing Coordinator works in close collaboration with the Artistic Director, Executive Director, Development Coordinator, Festival Coordinator, Academy Coordinator, and other administrative staff.  Excellent computer skills and ability to multi-task under pressure, as well as a sense of humour and a background in classical music are preferred.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • e-blasts and communications
  • assisting with organization of the house programme ad sales
  • assisting with production and editing of House Programmes
  • social media management
  • promotional exchanges with community groups and arts organization
  • Front of House assistance during the Festival (setting up CD Sales, Concessions)
  • volunteer coordination
  • assisting with print production including the 2017 flyer, posters, and other materials

Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in microsoft office
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to show tact and diplomacy when working with a wide variety of volunteers, artists, and donors
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends through the Festival period (July 13-August 5)
  • A passion for classical music, arts management experience preferred

2)  Festival Coordinator

Summer Student

May 1 – August 18, 2017

 

Under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Director, the Festival Coordinator is the link between Festival Artists and their managers, Academy Resident Artists, Academy Fellows (the young artists) and the Artistic Director. The Festival Coordinator works in close collaboration with the Artistic Director, Executive Director, Academy Coordinator, and other administrative staff.  The Festival Coordinator has excellent planning and organizational skills which are necessary for coordinating schedules, assignment of studios and practice rooms, production schedules for rehearsals and concerts as well as travel planning.  Excellent computer skills and ability to multi-task under pressure, as well as a sense of humour and a background in classical music are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Artists: coordinate travel and hotel arrangements, ground transportation, coordinate the preparation of Artist contracts, track receipt of signed contracts, coordinate submission of tax forms for international artists, create welcome packages for artists, prepare schedules in Festival scheduling software, Marcato
  • General office assistance: assist with database management and large-scale mail-outs, assist with filing, social media, marketing where required
  • Festival Concert Production: work with piano tuners, production staff at venues, equipment rental suppliers, artists, and artistic director to ensure concerts run smoothly, attend dress rehearsals
  • Post Festival wrap up – write a final report, submit SOCAN reports

Other duties as required.
