The Chamber Music program is directed to instrumental amateurs seeking a high-level music-making experience. Participants will be placed in ensembles with professional musicians for a week of intensive rehearsing, coachings, and camaraderie. This program is open to strings, winds, brass, and pianists (both individuals and pre-formed ensembles are welcome to apply).

The TSM Community Academy will take place at the Edward Johnson Building, Faculty of Music, University of Toronto.

Typical Daily Schedule
9:00am-10:00am – Morning chorale
10:00am-12:00pm – Rehearsals, masterclasses, coachings, Festival daytime events
12:00pm-1:00pm – Lunch
1:00pm-3:00pm – Rehearsals, masterclass, coachings
5:00pm onwards – Festival concerts

Who Can Apply

Applicants must be over 18 years of age.  This program is intended for advanced amateurs* intent on improving their skills with a rigorous daily schedule of rehearsals, coachings, and masterclasses.
*The Community Academy is geared towards adult amateur musicians and is not recommended for students currently enrolled in a music degree at a university/college.

Tuition Fees

Chamber Music: $950*
15% EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT (until January 31, 2018)
50% Tuition due upon acceptance
June 1, 2018 – Remaining 50% of tuition due
*HST will be added to the tuition fee at time of purchase.

The application and tuition fees are non-refundable. Tuition fees include Community Academy program plus tickets to all TSM Festival concerts July 30th to August 4th upon request ($250 value), daily lunch, and morning coffee.  Tuition does not include breakfast/dinner, lodging, or travel.
