This concert offers the rare and highly intriguing opportunity to follow the evolution of Hungarian genius Béla Bartók’s approach to composing string quartets. The creation of these great works spanned, and reflected, a tumultuous period in music, from 1909 to 1939. You’ll listen spellbound as Bartók worked through other composers’ influences and achieved a unique and deeply satisfying approach to this crucial musical form.
