About Duncan McDougall:

Duncan served as the co-concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra from 2017-2019 and, as a winner of the TSYO Concerto Competition, he performed as a soloist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in November 2018. Duncan made his orchestral debut with the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016 and has also appeared with the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra, the Oakville Chamber Orchestra, and the Canadian Sinfonietta.

Duncan was the recipient of the 2019 TSYO Stingray Rising Stars Award. He was also the Grand Prize winner at the 2017 CCC Piano and Violin Competition and has won numerous awards and scholarships at festivals such as Toronto Kiwanis, North York, Rotary Burlington, OMFA Provincial Music Festival, and the Canadian Music Competition. As a chamber musician, Duncan attended the Szekely/Rolston Young Musician’s Program at the 2016 Banff International String Quartet Competition. He has also attended summer programs at Orford and Domaine Forget, and will be attending Morningside Music Bridge at the New England Conservatory in the summer of 2019.
